GEELONG has climbed back into the VFL top eight with a 30-point win over fellow finals contender GWS Giants at GMHBA Stadium.

The Cats led the Giants at every change on their way to a 12.14 (86) to 8.8 (56) victory.

One of only four AFL-listed players in the Geelong team, Luke Dahlhaus sent a reminder to the senior coaching staff of his ability with a 25 disposal, 11 clearance and two-goal performance.

In his second VFL outing, Toby Conway also showed plenty, tallying 20 disposals, 16 hitouts and seven clearances.

Ollie Dempsey and Mitch Knevitt had 18 and 15 possessions, respectively.

Jye Chalcraft (29 disposals, ten clearances) and Ben Lloyd (24 disposals, ten marks) were the best performed of the VFL contingent.

Geelong, which is only percentage outside the top four, next faces Footscray in a Friday twilight match at Whitten Oval.
