A SERIOUS knee injury that is likely to sideline Grace Purcell to mid-2023 hasn’t deterred AFLW clubs from showing interest in the Geelong Falcons midfielder.

The Barwon Heads product suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, damage to her posterior cruciate and medial ligaments, and a fracture of her femuragainst the Western Jets on February 26,

She is one of six Falcons invited to the upcoming AFLW Draft Combine.

Also on the draft radar are Analea McKee (Geelong Amateur), Ash van Loon (St Mary’s), Charlotte Simpson (St Joseph’s), Lizzy Dowling (St Mary’s), and Mia van Dyk.

Simpson, who made her VFLW debut for Geelong on the weekend, is father-daughter eligible at the Cats and St Kilda, where dad Sean played 114 and seven matches.

This year’s combine, whose date is yet to be set, will feature just one physical test – a 2km time trial.
