NORTH Shore has snapped a 27-game losing streak in emphatic style following a 40-point win over St Albans at Windsor Park on Saturday.

The Seagulls, whose last win was against the Supersaints in Round 18, 2018, have all but ensured they’ll avoid the wooden spoon with the 13.17 (95) to 8.7 (55) victory.

“It was almost like a scene out of a movie (at the final siren),” co-coach Nick Dixon told The Wash-up podcast. “It was hailing rain and pretty dark by that stage.

“All the boys embraced pretty quick, and a few of ours twos boys ran out and embraced us.

“The boys have worked really hard, especially during these lockdowns, to keep grinding away and really putting kms in the legs, and I reckon it really showed.

“It was just a great reward for the boys, and I’m sure this will be the start of our new journey.”
