More new faces for Cats

LARA has further strengthened its list ahead of the 2020 GFL season with three more signings.

The Cats have added Keanu Lee-Feeney from NT club Southern Districts and former East Geelong and Corio player Steve Poynton.

“Keanu is living in Tarneit and had a number of local clubs in that area chasing him but has been training with us since just before Christmas and has decided to play at Lara,” a statement on Lara’s Facebook page said.

“Steve’s wife Rebecca also plays netball for Lara and have both just moved to the area.

“Steve’s keen to test himself at a higher level, and we applaud him for that.”

They have also welcomed back defender Ben Fitzgerald after two years overseas.

Fitzgerald made headlines in May 2017 when he suffered a dislocated collarbone and a severe concussion leading to a match against St Albans at Bisinella Oval being abandoned in the third quarter.

He becomes the fourth Cat to find his way back to the Snakepit, with Mitch Day, Kane Smith and Dylan Jose also set to pull on the Hoops again in 2020.

Lara opens its season at home against North Shore on April 4.
