BRENT Macleod has wasted no time in picking up where he left off following a best-on-ground performance in Thomson’s seven-point Round 1 win over East Geelong.

In his first match for the Tigers in nearly five years, the 2016 Whitley medallist starred with three goals and plenty of possessions as Thomson held off a final-quarter burst from their arch-rivals.

“He’s a little bigger this year, which he probably won’t like me saying,” co-coach Sam Jacka said. “But it aids him around those contests.

“He’s so strong over the footy. That’s probably what we’ve got to our advantage this year; we’re bigger bodies.

“But he hit the ground running yesterday and was phenomenal.

“We’re really happy to have him on board.”
