MODEWARRE has got its wish to use its new lights in the opening round clash with Anglesea at Community Bank Oval.

AFL Barwon has confirmed the Warriors match-up with their Surf Coast Shire rivals will be a twilight fixture on Easter Saturday (April 3).

Warriors football boss Michael Fitzgerald told krockfootball.com.au last month it was keen to make an event of its first Easter home game since 2001.

The start time of that match, which will mark Chris Hickey’s first game in charge of the Warriors, will be confirmed at a later date.

There will also be two Good Friday games to commence the Bellarine Football League season.

Portarlington will host Newcomb at Ron Evans Oval, as they did on 2019, with the first bounce at 2:10pm.

At 4:00pm, Torquay will take on Ocean Grove at McCartney Oval, marking the third time the Tigers have played on Good Friday after meetings with Modewarre in 2018-19.

The Barwon Heads-Drysdale and Queenscliff-Geelong Amateur match-ups will both be played at 2:10pm on Easter Saturday.
