REIGNING GFL premier St Mary’s has added Barwon Heads young gun Charlie Sprague.

The talented 19-year-old, who kicked 21 goals for the Geelong Falcons this year, before returning to the Seagulls to play in its drought-breaking BFL flag, is also attempting to win a spot on Geelong’s VFL list.

Sprague’s arrival comes just days after the Saints confirmed they had lured Werribee-listed forward Hudson Garoni from GFL rival Grovedale.

In other GFL player movement:

  • Former Geelong Falcon Bayley Cockerill has departed Lara for Barwon Heads.
  • Leopold premiership player Alex Moloney is headed to VAFA club Old Geelong.
  • North Shore duo Alex Bowd and Jonny Fazio are set to join Clunes in the Central Highlands league. Bowd played 93 games and Fazio 85 matches in blue and gold.

There is speculation the Seagulls will also lose star midfielder Nick Dixon.

It is believed Dixon, who was named in the GFL Coaches’ Team of the Year and played five VFL games at Essendon this year, is headed to Sydney.
