Not just forward thinking for Eddie

EDDIE Betts can claim to be one of the finest small forwards who have played at the highest level.

350 games and 640 goals is a testament to the ability of the recently retired former Adelaide and Carlton goalsneak.

However, the recently appointed part-time Geelong development coach says that helping further improve Gryan Miers, Bradley Close, and Francis Evans won’t be his sole focus at GMHBA Stadium.

“I like to work the whole football department,” Betts said

“Whether that’s going and talking to the backs to tell them what I don’t like as a small forward and helping them out as well.

“They’ve got a lot of great small forwards down here, and I’m looking forward to helping them out the best way I can.

“I’m just excited to be down here at Geelong, to be honest.”
