Bluey named top coach

TIM McGrath has been recognised for taking Geelong Amateur to the AFL Barwon Women’s Division 1 minor premiership by being named coach of the Coaches Team of the Year.

The former Cats star has been in charge at Ammos since their women’s program was formed in late 2017.

After finishing as beaten preliminary finalists in 2018, Geelong Amateur finished with a 12-1 win-loss record in this year’s home-and-away season.

The Coaches Team of the Year features players from both the Division 1 and Division 2 competitions.

14 players have returned from the 2018 side, with nine new faces making up the final 23.
