JACK Henry will look to press his case for a quick recall to the Geelong AFL team when he runs out in the club’s VFL practice match against Coburg on Saturday.

The young defender, who had only missed two games since debuting in Round 2, 2018, was a surprise omission from the Cats’ team to play the Crows in Adelaide.

Henry will be joined in the VFL team by veteran Zach Tuohy, who the Cats are keen to get more game time into after he was a late withdrawal from the practice match against Collingwood on February 26 due to back spasms.

VFL: CURTAIN-RAISER TO OPEN SEASON FOR BANKERS

In all, there are 15 AFL-listed players named for the clash with the Lions at Deakin Uni, including Darcy Fort, as he returns from a knee injury.

2020 draftees Max Holmes, Nick Stevens and Shannon Neale, and Category B rookie Paul Tsapatolis will also play.

Former AFL-listed Cats Darcy Lang and Jackson Thurlow, who were delisted by Carlton and Sydney respectively, at the end of last year, lead the 12-man VFL contingent.

The match-up with Coburg starts at 1pm.
