GEELONG has named veteran defender Lachie Henderson, second-year forward Ben Jarvis, and draftees Cooper Stephens and Bradley Close among a 37-man squad for Labour Day’s VFL practice match against Essendon at Colac.

All four were part of the Cats’ team that played in the AFL’s Marsh Community Series loss to Gold Coast.

The clash with the Bombers will be the first time Geelong fans will get to see 2019 draftees Sam De Koning, FRancis Evans and Cam Taheny in the Hoops.

They are among 12 AFL listed players named, with the Cats to use 25 VFL players.

Among those is former Hawthorn player Teia Miles, who was named to Geelong’s VFL leadership group late last week.
