Daffy to lead Falcons

GEELONG Falcons have turned to assistant coach Luke Daffy to lead the TAC Cup club in 2019.

Daffy, who played locally with St Mary’s and Portarlington, fills the position left vacant by 2017 premiership mentor Daniel O’Keefe who stepped down after two years in charge to take a role with Geelong’s VFL program.

Daffy, who started with the Falcons in the under-16 program in 2014, is no stranger to the head coaching position having taken charge of two games this year.

“The club has been impressed with the range and quality of candidates that expressed their interest in fulfilling
the Head Coaching position at the Falcons,” Talent Manager Michael Turner said.

“To that end, the club was rapt with the way Luke presented throughout the selection process.

“When considering his teaching background, we are confident the club has appointed a fine person to lead, develop and mentor the next generation of Falcons footballers.”

The 2019 Falcons squad commences pre-season training on Monday, November 19.
