North Shore (7th) vs. St Mary’s (2nd)

Windsor Park

Saturday, July 1, 2:10pm

THE margin was 19 points when these two last meet, however a closer look at the score reveals St Mary’s had 32 scoring shots to 13. The Saints are in a battle with Bell Park and Colac for a qualifying final berth and can’t afford a loss to a team like North Shore. The Seagulls biggest issue has been its inability to kick goals against the better sides. That was also evident against Grovedale last week, who held North Shore to just one major in the first half. St Mary’s will be without Jack Blood and Harry Kol, who are set to make their VFL debuts for Geelong, while spearhead Sam Dobson is also part of the Cats’ squad. With Coburg having the bye in the VFL development league, Stuart Donnelly is available for the Seagulls. However, talented youngster Brad Gerrard will be missing.

Last time they met: Round 4, 2017: St Mary’s 8.24 (72) def. North Shore 8.5 (53) @ Anthony Costa Oval

Prediction: St Mary’s by 34 points
