East Geelong (6th) vs. Invelerleigh (5th)

Richmond Crescent

Saturday, July 1, 2:10pm

WHEN Inverleigh and East Geelong met back in Round 1, the Hawks handed the Eagles a 121-point hiding. Don’t expect that to be the margin this week, even if league leading goal kicker Jak Kennedy Hunt does line-up for Inverleigh. Hawks coach Mark McDowell has hinted that a rest is coming for the star forward, who sits on 89 goals. While last week’s loss to Thomson was disappointing performance, East Geelong has been mostly competitive with the fop five teams, including a 25-point loss to Bell Post Hill in Round 10. The Hawks have consecutive trips to Geelong’s eastern suburbs before taking on Bannockburn in Round 14, which is likely to be for the minor premiership. Nathan Mayes has been named Inverleigh’s squad, but Josh Rees will be missing.

Last time they met: Round 1, 2017: Inverleigh 25.19 (169) def. East Geelong 7.6 (48) @ Inverleigh Reserve

Prediction: Inverleigh by 45 points
