North Geelong (4th) vs. Winchelsea (9th)

Keith Barclay Oval – Osborne Park

Saturday, July 1, 2:10pm

NORTH Geelong will be keen to bounce back quickly from last week’s disappointing effort against Anakie. The Magpies remain fourth, two games clear inside the top five. However, if they unable to overcome the Blues they would become vulnerable, with a clash against Bannockburn to follow before the split round. North Geelong has an unhealthy reliance on 2015 Whitley medallist Jamie Pitman to kick a score. He has 36 goals for the season. Luke Parker is next best with 15. Captain Luke van Krieken and veteran defender Darren Mathisen have both been been named for the Magpies. The Gubbins brothers – Alex and Hans – both remain sidelined for Winchelsea.

Last time they met: Round 1, 2017: North Geelong 13.15 (93) def. Winchelsea 12.13 (85) @ Eastern Reserve

Prediction: North Geelong by 21 points
