BFL ROUND 5- NEWCOMB vs. GEELONG AMATEUR

Newcomb (10th) vs. Geelong Amateur (5th)

Newcomb Sand & Soil Oval

Saturday, April 29, 2:10pm

A HEAD clash involving star Geelong Amateur forward Mitch Day and Newcomb defender Kane Parish has taken some of the gloss off Ammos’ 127-point win at Newcomb Sand & Soil Oval.

Respective coach Rowan McSparron (Amateur) and Rory Nicol (Newcomb) agreed to call the game off just before three-quarter time as both teams waited for an ambulance to arrive.

While Day suffered a concussion, Parish, who was also knocked out, suffered a suspected broken collarbone.

Before the incident, Day had been impressive with seven goals, while Hugh Hunter, Jarrod Westwood and veteran Tim Clark had all kicked three goals, while Ross Fagan and Chris Kangars had been impressive.

Parish was named among the Power’s best along with Paul Kennelly and Jack Hudson.

Ammos travel out to Drysdale in search of a fourth-straight win, while Newcomb hosts Modewarre.
