LUCY McEvoy has wasted no time on making an impact on the AFLW competition, with the former Geelong Falcons captain earning a Rising Star nomination for Round 1.
Taken with pick No.2 in last year’s National Draft, she picked up 12 possessions, took five marks and laid four tackles in Carlton’s 34-point win over Richmond at Ikon Park.
“Lucy has been sensational since arriving at Ikon Park,” coach Daniel Harford said.
“She had a great pre-season and looked right at home against Richmond in Round 1.
“I can’t wait to see her take her game to the next level throughout the years to come at Carlton.”
St Kilda’s Georgia Patrikios was also nominated.
