GEELONG Falcons have posted their highest-ever score and biggest ever win as they all but locked up a NAB League Girls finals berth with a 75-point hiding of the Western Jets at Williamstown, 12.4 (76) to 0.1 (1).

It was the second time in 2019 the Falcons, who sit half-a-game clear on top of the ladder, have kept their opponent goalless.

While the Falcons defensive unit, featuring debutant Gabbi Featherston were virtually impassable, coach Jason Armistead was full of praise for how his team functioned inside forward 50.

“Our forward line is working really well,” he said.

“We don’t rely on any one player, so we’re pretty unpredictable going forward, which is good.

Mia Skinner kicked four goals to take her tally to a competition-high 15 after six rounds, while Poppy Schaap, Renee Tierney and first-game Tameika Lewis all contributed two majors.

Paige Sheppard again impressed in the midfield, while Armistead also praised the performances of Luka Lesosky-Hay and Analea McKee.

The Falcons will enjoy Easter weekend off before setting themselves for the final three rounds of the season, which includes battles with fellow finals contenders Calder Cannons and Northern Knights.

“Our Futures girls played really well today … it’s going to be really tough over the next few weeks trying to pick our best side going into those games,” Armistead said.

“We get to reload a little bit over the next week or so. We’ve got Calder and Northern coming up, which are a couple of sides right up the top.”
