Long-term sponsor re-signs

CORIO Bay Health Group’s long-term support of local football and netball will continue for at least another three years after signing a new deal with AFL Barwon.

It will take Corio Bay’s partnership, which started with the GFL in 1985, to 37 years.

“We’re really proud of that fact, and hopefully it continues for many years to come,” AFL Barwon boss Will McGregor said.

“It will stay similar, but I think what Corio Bay can offer, we probably potentially haven’t explored that fully.

“I think we can look to do that in the coming years and months in regards to education – there’s a lot of programs that they offer here through sports psychology, nutrition or clinical physiotherapy – a whole range of areas we can potentially provide education to clubs around that.”

Corio Bay Operations Manager Adam Walters says the relationship is “highly valued and of mutual benefit”.

“The partnership with AFL Barwon provides an opportunity for Corio Bay Health Group to actively contribute to local football and netball competitions which we see as a vital component of our local community,” he said.

“It also allows Corio Bay Health Group an opportunity to share its wealth of knowledge in relation to injury management and prevention to players and staff from affiliated clubs.”
