JACK Baker will miss Belmont Lions’ must-win clash with Winchelsea following the interleague break after being suspended for one match for striking.

Baker was originally reported for striking an unknown Anakie player, who was later identified as Lachie Cameron, during the Lions’ 32-point win over the Roos at Winter Reserve on Saturday.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, but was found guilty by the AFL Barwon Tribunal panel of Werner Weigl (chair), Ron Drew and Greg Davies.

Baker was one of three players suspended for the night.

East Geelong’s Will Hoare will also miss one week after being found guilty of striking Corio’s Sheridan Stack during the Eagles’ 46-point win at Richmond Crescent.

However, the South Barwon recruit did have a small win from his decision to challenge the report at the tribunal, with umpire Caleb McGrath having offered a two-week set penalty.

And Geelong West (GFL) reserves player Temoe Brown received a three-week holiday after pleading guilty to kicking David Jennings from St Albans on April 28.
