BEN Capra has confirmed he is weighing up his playing future after playing an important role in St Joseph’s third premiership win in four years.

Capra, who captained Joeys to their 2015 and 2017 successes, is considering his options after 203 games in the red, gold and black.

“I’ve got the house in Melbourne and that I’ve bought and that’s going to take up a bit of time.

“I said in the article when I had my 200th, I just keep getting drawn back to this fantastic club, these fantastic boys.

“I’m not going to say I’m not in yet or going for it. I’ll have to sit down now and consider all options.

“How can you leave this sort of set-up. It’s fantastic.”

Capra was vital in helping out Josh Hovey in the ruck, especially in the second half as St Joseph’s mounted a comeback from a 22-point deficit in the third quarter.

“I was in the middle at the time and I thought I was getting on top of ‘Banj’ (Saints ruckman Andrew Banjanin) a bit,” he said.

“It’s easy to say now that we’ve won it, but I wasn’t concerned at any point today.

“I think there’s times when you go, “geez, we should have kicked that one”.

“But, internally, over the journey over the last four or five years in particular, we’ve just built up that confidence in each other.

“We never give up.”

Capra says the trust the playing group has each in other was vital throughout the afternoon.

“Every football side, every sports side, claims they play for each other and they love each other,” he said.

“I think you saw testament to that today that we’re just the cream of the crop when it comes to those values.

“We trust each other immensely – you can see that from the backline all the way to the forwards.

“And an absolute belief in each other no matter what, no matter how much we’re down.

“It’s been a real challenging year, but this is just the cream on the cake.”
