South signs former Banno star

FORMER Bannockburn star Jake Peters has become the latest quality signing at GFL club South Barwon.

Peters played 55 games and kicked 76 games in between 2015-17 at Victoria Park before returning to Wimmera league club Warrack Eagles, kicking two goals in the WFL’s Community Championships win over Murray in 2019.

During his stint at Bannockburn, he represented the GDFL and was named in the  Team of the Year in 2015.

Peters, who was due to play with Old Collegians in the Warrnambool and District league in 2020, is one of seven new additions at the Swans.

He joins the previously announced Jackson Carrick (Darley), Jarrod Duncan (Lavington/Xavier College/Murray Bushrangers), Noah Kol (South Warrnambool), Josh O’Dwyer (Numurkah), Austin Shepherd (Albury) and Ben Simpson (North Ballarat City) as the additions at McDonald Reserve.
