LEOPOLD captain Sam Scott has become the latest big-name departure from the club.

A member of the 2016 premiership team, Scott has told the Lions he will be moving to Queensland with fiancée Miki and son Eddie after being offered a job in the Sunshine State.

A Leopold junior, Scott played 117 games and kicked 69 goals for the club while also appearing with the Geelong Falcons and VFL club North Ballarat.

“His electric pace, grit and determination to win the footy, along with his selfless nature, are just some qualities that made him such a great teammate,” the Lions said on social media.
“”Box’ has always possessed strong leadership qualities, and with that, he earned the role as club captain in 2019.
“(It was) a role he thrived in and continued to develop a strong culture and hold the playing group and the club to a high standard.”
Leopold said it’s not only on the field Sam will be missed.
“Over the years, he and Miki have spent countless hours putting effort into the club in a variety of roles, always with the mindset to improve the club and make it an enjoyable place to be,” the social media post continued.
Scott joins Lucas Boyd (Kolora Noorat), Jayden Exell (Thomson), Andrew Pepper (Hamilton) and Tom Ruggles (Drysdale) as confirmed departures.
