BANNOCKBURN captain Brad Watts won’t know for at least six weeks whether the damage to his kidney will need further medical intervention.

Watts was released yesterday afternoon after spending six nights in Geelong’s University Hospital after copping an accidental knock in last week’s loss to Bell Post Hill.

He underwent surgery on Sunday after a bleed re-ruptured, which they were able to stop without removing the kidney.

“The kidney is still badly damaged and they can’t really estimate to what state it may heal,” Watts, who will be at Richmond Crescent to watch the Tigers take on East Geelong today, said.

“I’ve pretty much got to do as little as possible over the next six weeks and will get an idea then if it is healing and how well, then reassess.”
