ONLY a fortnight after telling Bannockburn to open applications for his job, Peter Riccardi has been re-appointed as senior coach for 2020.

Riccardi, who will enter a fifth season in charge at Victoria Park, revealed to krockfootball.com.au on August 7 that he had urged the Tigers to advertise the role.

“If someone comes along that they think’s a good fit, and I’m not right the person for it, then, by all means, go for it,” Riccardi said.

“This is my fourth year. At the start, I was only going to be two or three years.

“I am still enjoying it. It’s just they want me to commit right now and I probably can’t.”

Appointed alongside fellow former Geelong great Darren Milburn in 2016, Riccardi has gone it alone in the role for the past two seasons.

The Tigers have played finals each year he has been at the club, reaching the grand final in 2016 before being beaten by Bell Post Hill.

They will face Werribee Centrals in a qualifying final to open the GDFL finals series on Saturday.
