GDFL struggler Corio has received a welcome boost with news former Inverleigh star Simon Seddon has signed with the club.

Seddon, who was named on a half-forward flank in the 2018 GDFL Team of the Year following an impressive first season in the competition, was set to join fellow former Hawks Blake Hutchinson and Jak Kennedy Hunt at Central Highlands club Ballan.

However, that has fallen through, with Seddon joining Hutchinson at VIVA Energy Oval.

GDFL: THE WASH-UP – ROUND 2

“Having ‘Sedds’ come on board after our first two results is exactly what the club needs to pick us all back up,” coach Darren Bennett said.

“It’s been an ongoing process for a couple of months. We’ve been touching base to see where things are at.”

However, Bennett says adding Kennedy Hunt, who won the Whitley Medal and kicked a century of goals in 2017,  is “unlikely at this stage”.

After consecutive 100-point losses to Thomson and Geelong West to open the 2019 season, the Devils face another tough task when they travel to Winchelsea following the Easter break.
