New Hawk in the clear

INVERLEGH recruit Ryan Robertson is free to play in the club’s opening round GDFL clash against Bell Post Hill after being cleared of charging at the AFL Barwon Tribunal on Tuesday night.

The former North Shore and Corio midfielder was reported by three umpires over an incident involving Lara’s Keanu-Lee Feeney in the practice match at Bisinella Oval on Saturday.

However, only one of the three reporting umpires gave evidence in the hearing that lasted around 90 minutes.

Robertson is seen as a key addition as the Hawks go in search of their first premiership since claiming the Division 2 premiership in 1992 when they were known as Leigh Districts.

He was set to play with Anakie in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
