Clearance lodged for Lovitt

BELL Post Hill has taken advantage of the reopening of clearances by lodging a transfer for four-time premiership ruckman Renn Lovitt.

The ruckman last appeared in the red and blue in the 2017 decider against Inverleigh before moving to Queensland.

However, Panthers coach Justin Tarr said Lovitt was only a “30-70” chance of playing if the 2020 season gets underway.

“He has moved back down (to Geelong) and has been training for a month,” Tarr said.

“However he’s not footy fit at the moment and has a dodgy ankle.

“The ankle is bone-on-bone and blows up like a balloon whenever he does something.

“But if he could get it right and get fit, then he will play. He is giving it a go.”

Despite clearances reopening last week, Lovitt’s the only transfer lodged to come into the region in that time.
