TWO of Bannockburn’s greatest ever players will team up to guide the club’s fortunes in 2022.

Current star Jack Brauman and Team of the Century member Ron Pilgrim have been appointed co-coaches of the Tigers after an extensive search for a replacement for Peter Riccardi.

“We said at the start we were going to take our time, and we wanted to make the right decision,” Bannockburn football boss Zach Hickleton said.

“It has taken a long time, but we’ve got there with two really good people in Jack and Ronnie.

“We’re really excited to see what they can do next year.”

A premiership player and multiple best-and-fairest winner with Bannockburn, Brauman has played at both VFL and GFL levels and spent last year in the Queensland AFL competition with Surfers Paradise.

“He’s got a wealth of experience playing in different areas and under different coaches,” Hickleton said.

“He really likes challenging himself – that’s the way he is as a person and as a footballer.

“The next step was to challenge himself coaching, and he’s really excited to do it.

“He’s got an amazing amount of respect, not just at our club but around the Geelong region.”

For Pilgrim, who played more than 300 games in the yellow and black, this will be his third stint in charge of Bannockburn.

He shared the role with Dan Gibbs in 2007 and Ross Dillon in 2010-11.

“He’s going to be really good support for Jack,” Hickleton said. “He’ll mentor him and give advice.

“They’re going to work really, really well together.”

Brauman and Pilgrim is the last coaching appointment for 2022 to be confirmed across the region.
