FORMER co-coach Nathan Kenyon and fellow veteran Mitch White have become the latest departures from GDFL club Anakie.

The good mates will head to the state’s north to finish off their careers after signing with Undera.

Kenyon, 30, said a cricket link with new Undera coach Darron Batties led him and White to the Kyabram and District Football League club.

“I got a call and had a chat with him, and it sounded good,” Kenyon said.

“It was a different opportunity to playing around Geelong again – that was why it was so appealing.

“It’s something that’s out of the way.”

GFL: FRISBEE FOILS FULTON

News of Kenyon and White’s exit comes less than 24 hours after confirmation 2019 best-and-fairest Daniel Green will return to GFL club Lara.

It follows the departures in recent weeks of Dan Weigl and Bailey Ettridge to Lara, former captain Jamie Phillis, Brad Gerrard, Jake Butcher and Tom Karacsay to North Geelong, and young big Kad McEwan-Walsh to Inverleigh.

White played 118 games across two stints at Anakie.

Kenyon, who played 89 games for the Roos after arriving from Inverleigh, admits it’s a “tough time” for the club.

“The option of staying would have been the easy one,” he said.

“But, at the same time, I’m not getting any younger, so it’s now or never.

“Unfortunately, it’s not a good time for the club, but I’ve got to do what’s right for me.”
