Warrior to face tribunal

MODEWARRE hard-nut Daniel Sturzaker will face the AFL Barwon tribunal after being reported for an incident involving Barwon Heads’ veteran Matt Dyer during the Warriors’ grand final win at Drysdale’s Mortimer Oval on Saturday.

Sturzaker received a yellow card in the first quarter, with the charge referred to the AFL Barwon Match Review Panel for assessment.

With no footage of the incident, the MRP has sent the case to the tribunal.

MEANWHILE, Bell Post Hill youngster Liam Meyrich has been offered a one-week set penalty for making forceful front-on contact to Thomson’s Jeremy Stacey during Saturday’s preliminary final at The Gordon TAFE Oval.

The ruckman has until tomorrow morning to either accept or challenge the offer.
