DRYSDALE has welcomed home two-time premiership captain Brent Taylor in an assistant coaching role for 2020.

Taylor, who will look after the Hawks’ backline under co-coaches Luke Matthews and Daniel Jull, has spent the last five years at Thomson.

During his tenure at Godfrey Street, he guided the Tigers to the 2018 GDFL premiership alongside good mate Reece Holwell.

However, whether Holwell also returns to Mortimer Oval remains up in the air, with the Whitley medallist telling krockfootball.com.au late last week he was unsure of his football future.

“I’ll have a break for a month or two,” Holwell said. “There’s nothing in the works at the moment; I just need to get away for a little bit.

“It’s been tiring work the last couple of years, and I just need a bit of a recharge, and I’ll reassess when I’m a bit more rested up.

“The body feels good. I’m just mentally exhausted with coaching and trying to get a kick, as well.
