FORMER Richmond big man Angus Graham has lodged a clearance to join BFL pacesetter Barwon Heads.

Graham, who played 48 games for the Tigers between 2007-12 before spending two years on Adelaide’s list without playing a game, has most recently played in the WAFL with Perth after a season in the Essendon league with Aberfeldie.

“He is moving to the area and he’s got some family friends at the footy club,” Seagulls co-coach Mitch Herbison said.

“I guess, moving down this way, getting to footy training and meeting some new guys that way is a good way to go about it for him.

“We’ve put the clearance and his just going to come down and train and see how it all pans out.”

Herbison said there is no pressure on the 30-year-old line-up with the Seagulls.

“It’s good to have guys with AFL experience at your training sessions,” he said.

“‘Boris’ (Corey Enright) has been the perfect example of that. That experience and getting around the young guys is a great benefit to the coaching staff.

Having coming from the WAFL, and Barwon Heads being his third club in three years, Graham’s points will also impact on how he fits into the team.

“It makes him a six (pointer),” Herbison said.

“It’s certainly going to be a factor, but we’ve got a lot of one-pointers, which is handy for us.”
