MODEWARRE has got its wish to use its upgraded lights at Community Bank Oval to open its 2021 BFL season.

The Warriors will host Surf Coast Shire rivals Anglesea on the final night of daylight saving on April 3 with the bounce scheduled for 6pm.

It will be the final match of a bumper opening round, which features Good Friday clashes between Portarlington and Newcomb (2:10pm) and Torquay and Ocean Grove (4:00pm).

On Saturday afternoon, Barwon Heads host Drysdale and Queenscliff meet Geelong Amateur.

Meanwhile, Anglesea’s lengthy association with the Alcoa company has ended after the best part of 40 years.

The Roos home ground at Ellimatta Reserve has been known as Alcoa Oval for the best part of a decade, while the Alcoa logo also featured on the club’s jumper.

Alcoa no longer has a link to the town following the closure of their power station in 2015.
