Jarvis returns to Grubbers

OCEAN Grove has received a massive boost as it looks to work its way out of the bottom rungs of the BFL ladder with Andrew Jarvis returning to the club.

The Grubbers revealed via social media that the star ruckman, who spent 2019 with junior club South Barwon, playing every game, will pull on the red and white again next year.

“The club is thrilled to welcome back Andrew Jarvis for the 2020 season,” Ocean Grove said via Facebook.

“‘Jarvs’ is one of the premier ruckmen in the region and his achievements in his time at the Grubbers are well known – 2015 best-and-fairest winner, multiple Team of the Year selections and multiple BFL interleague representative.

“He will provide great leadership to our young group both on and off the field.”

Jarvis, who has played 71 games for Ocean Grove, was also part of the Vic Country training squad in 2018 after an impressive performance in the BFL’s Community Championships win over Wimmera.

He joined South Barwon alongside fellow Grubbers Matt Caldow and Jahd Anderson.

The return of Jarvis comes on the back of the appointment of new coach Pete Davey last month.
