MODEWARRE has pencilled in Luke Forbes for a return to playing following this week’s bye.

The veteran forward has been limited to just three games in 2018 due to ongoing injury issues.

However, co-coach Josh Finch says Forbes could play against Newcomb on July 14.

“Forbesy will probably play,” Finch said of the former St Joseph’s, Thomson and Newtown & Chilwell star.

“What grade is to be determined.”

The Warriors, who sit in fifth position, percentage clear of Queenscliff, still have a number of other players to return after the break.

“Cody Grant’s back from holidays and Sturzy’s (Daniel Sturzaker) getting close as well, which will be handy,” Finch said.

“Luke Collins has still got a week’s suspension, (and) Troy Anderson’s still got a few more weeks (to serve).”

Tom Worpel, who has played 73 consecutive games since arriving at Modewarre ahead of the 2015 season, hurt his back in Sunday’s win over Anglesea but should be right to take on the Power.

The break will also come in handy for defender Scott Driscoll, who experienced some hamstring tightness against the Roos.
