Caldwell comes home to Roos

ANGLESEA’S prosperous off-season has continued with talented former junior Ash Caldwell returning to the club.

Caldwell, who has spent the last three seasons with GFL club Grovedale, playing 56 senior games, is among three more additions to the Roos’ list.

Also signing on at Alcoa Oval are fringe St Joseph’s big man Josh Hill and Bell Park’s Nick Swain.

Having already signed Caldwell’s former Tiger teammates Jordan Erskine and Jordan Harrison, as well as former Sydney Swan Matt O’Dwyer, Anglesea is well placed to challenge for a top-five berth.

Meanwhile, Newcomb has added some much-needed forward firepower.

The Power, who averaged just over 53 points per game have signed Joel Geue from Wimmera league club Horsham Demons and Aaron McKinnis from Robinvale-Euston in the Sunraysia league.

Geue has played in multiple premierships and is coming off an equal league-best 60 goals in 2017.

McKinnis finished with 34 goals from 14 games, giving him 101 majors from 48 matches across three seasons with Robinvale-Euston.

And reigning premier Torquay has added to its ruck stocks with the signing of Jake Reeves from Goulburn Valley league powerhouse Kyabram.

Reeves won both the best-on-ground medal in this year’s premiership win over Shepparton and the medal for the player of the finals series.
