ONE of country football and netball’s longest-running partnerships has been extended for a further three years with AFL Barwon locking away DOW Company as the Bellarine Football Netball League’s naming rights sponsor until at least the end of 2023.

It will take the partnership, which started in the mid-1980s when DOW was known as Rohm & Haas, to just 39 seasons.

“Their involvement across our region and community-minded values also align to AFL Barwon’s, which is key to any long-term partnership,” AFL Barwon Region General Manager Will McGregor said.

“Secured partnerships heading into 2021 and beyond are more important than ever for our organisation, and DOW Company’s contribution and support during the COVID-19 period is something we are very grateful for.”

Both the senior football and A-grade netball competition’s carry the Dow name.

“We seek to magnify our impact in the community through meaningful collaborations with like-minded partners,” DOW’s Geelong site production leader Dawn Li said.

“The long-term partnership with BNFL is a testament of shared value and commitment towards supporting inclusive sports and the next generation.

“We are looking forward to seeing sports resume once the Covid-19 restrictions ease.”
