AFL Barwon surveys players

AFL Barwon will take into account the views of footballers and netballers from the Geelong, Bellarine and Colac and District leagues when deciding whether or not to proceed with the 2020 season.

A survey was sent to hundreds of players on Monday with six questions.

They included why they play community sport, would they be willing to play without payment, have they already been paid in 2020, and are they concerned about their health if they return to playing this year?

“The survey is designed to gather further information to help in decision-making in consultation with our clubs,” AFL Barwon Region General Manager Will McGregor said.

The survey was released in between AFL Victoria confirming a return to training date and releasing its guidelines for training.

It also comes after the GDFL sent a survey to its clubs last week featuring 55 questions, similar to one AFL Barwon governed clubs received earlier in the month.
