GEELONG ruckman Rhys Stanley says Friday night’s shock loss to the GWS Giants gives the club a chance to take stock with two home-and-away matches before finals.

The Cats are all but guaranteed a top-four finish, with wins over St Kilda and Melbourne giving them the chance to claim a top-two finish and leave the door open for a qualifying final at GMHBA Stadium if crowd limits are still an issue in Victoria.

There’s never a good loss, but we’ve got to reset off the back of this and sharpen ourselves for what’s to come,” Stanley told K rock Football following his 100th game for Geelong.

“The next six weeks, hopefully, is where it’s all at, and that’s where you put in the hard work all year for.

“It’s definitely a mental battle as well; it’s a long season.

“But, we’ve got to sharpen ourselves for what’s to come.”
