At Selection – Semi-Final

LUKE Dahlhaus and Sam Simpson have paid the price for Geelong’s abysmal qualifying final loss to Port Adelaide after being dropped for Friday night’s cut-throat semi-final match-up with Greater Western Sydney at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

Mark O’Connor (hamstring) is the only forced change for the Cats, with Shaun Higgins, who started as the medical substitute against the Power before replacing the Irishman, again listed as managed.

Zach Tuohy returns from a hamstring injury suffered against the Giants in Round 21, while big man Esava Ratugolesa and young speedster Max Holmes have been recalled.

Higgins is a chance to again be the medi-sub after being named among the four emergencies, alongside Simpson, Zach Guthrie and Darcy Fort.

GWS has named Bobby Hill for his first match since Round 17 while also including teenager Conor Stone for just his fifth game.

Going out of the Giants team that held off Sydney by one point in last week’s elimination final are the suspended Toby Greene, midfielder Tom Green (broken arm) and the experienced Sam Reid (hamstring).

GWS’ medi-sub will come from former captain Phil Davis, Jake Riccardi, Kieren Briggs and James Peatling.

K rock is live from 6pm on FM 95.5 across Geelong and the Surf Coast, and via AFL.com.au or the AFL app.
