At Selection – Round 17

GEELONG has made three forced changes for tomorrow night’s Round 17 opener against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Daniel Menzel will make his first appearance at AFL level since Round 5 after suffering an adverse reaction to an injection for a groin problem, Wylie Buzza is back for his third game of the season after playing in the wins against Gold Coast and North Melbourne in rounds 11 and 12, and Sam Simpson gets his chance after having his start to 2018 delayed by injury.

They replace injured trio Harry Taylor (foot), Jordan Murdoch (head knock) and Lachie Fogarty (groin soreness).

The Crows have made four changes.

Small forward Eddie Betts returns from injury, while Rory Atkins, Riley Knight and Lachlan Murphy have been recalled.

Veteran Richard Douglas will miss through injury, while Curtly Hampton, Myles Poholke and Darcy Fogarty have been dropped.

Star defender Daniel Talia has been named but remains in doubt with a foot injury.

“We’ll wait a little bit on Daniel,” Adelaide coach Don Pyke said.

“Daniel’s still a little bit sore, so we’ve probably got to test him tomorrow and just see how he comes up on a six-day break. It’s just going to be important to use as much time as we can.”

K rock is live from 6pm (AEST) on FM 95.5 across Geelong and the Surf Coast,  and via AFL.com.au or the AFL app.
