GEELONG has handed prime time slots as part of the AFL’s release of days and times for rounds 7 and 8.

The Cats will meet Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night, May 1, before clashing with grand final conqueror Richmond on a Friday night, May 7, at the MCG.

As well as being broadcast live on K rock, both will be shown on free-to-air television.

“We are off to a fantastic start to the 2021 season, so many storylines are starting to play out, and so many more are yet to be written,” AFL fixturing boss Travis Auld said.

“A flexible fixturing approach has provided us with an opportunity to optimise our scheduling of primetime slots in each round.

“The clubs featured in the next block have been strongly influenced by their form in the early part of the season.”

The AFL is aiming to release times and dates for rounds 9 and 10 matches following Round 5.
