GEELONG has finalised its jumper numbers for the 2020 season with the arrival this week of its five new draftees.

Cooper Stephens has taken the No.12 vacated by Wylie Buzza and worn in more than 100 games by Brad Sholl and Ron Hovey.

Sam De Koning will wear the No.16 previously occupied by Scott Selwood and carried with distinction by Bill Brownless, Rod Blake, Tommy Quinn, Les Smith and John Hyde.

No.31 has been snapped up by draft bolter Francis Evans. Worn in recent years by Jordan Cunico, the only 100-gamers to have carried the number for the Cats are David Mensch and Roy West.

Cam Taheny will wear the No.41 held for the past three years by Jamaine Jones. Josh Hunt played his first 61 games for Geelong in the number before moving to No.8.

Brad Close has been allocated the No.45 made vacant by Ryan Abbott’s departure to St Kilda. The number was made famous at the Cats by premiership captain Cameron Ling in his 246-game career.

Recruits Jack Steven and Josh Jenkins will wear Nos. 9 and 11 respectively that were previously worn by Zac Smith (Gold Coast) and Tim Kelly (West Coast)
