SAM De Koning will be at Geelong until at least the end of 2023 after signing a two-year contract extension.

The new deal for the versatile 202cm 20-year-0ld comes just days after being selected in the Cats’ AAMI Community Series team.

“Sam has a hunger to grow and develop as a player and he has already shown his work ethic and desire over the first 12 months at the club,” Geelong’s football boss Simon Lloyd said.

“We believe he will continue to improve and work his way into our side.

“He loves to compete and help the team.”

De Koning joined Geelong with pick no.19 in the 2019 National Draft from Mornington via NAB League club Dandenong Stingrays.

It leaves 23 Cats without a deal for next season.
