Don’t dwell on it – Danger

PATRICK Dangerfield has urged his Geelong teammates not to dwell on Friday night’s 43-point qualifying final loss to Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

The Cats were outclassed by the Power, continuing their horrendous recent record in which they are 1-6 in qualifying finals since last winning the premiership in 2011.

Geelong will face the winner of Saturday’s elimination final between Sydney and the GWS Giants in a semi-final next Friday night.

That match is likely to be played at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

“It’s one thing to reflect on the game, (and) reflect on the season, but you’ve got to pretty quickly focus on the controllable,” Dangerfield told K rock Football post-game.

“There’s definitely things, as there are every game, that we can take from this one.

“The challenge for us is to compartmentalise it, focus on one of the Sydney teams that we’ll play, and that’s the challenge ahead.

“It’s one because we’ve been here before, you can call on that past experience and you can learn.

“But, we can’t afford to dwell.”
