GEELONG recruit Stewart Crameri remains a chance to be right for the Round 1 meeting with Melbourne as he nears the end of his recovery from off-season hip surgery.

The former Western Bulldogs and Essendon forward was thrown an AFL lifeline by the Cats in the Rookie Draft and has worked hard to put himself in the frame to take on the Demons since arriving at GMHBA Stadium in late November.

“(I’m) 50-50 for Round 1,” Crameri told K rock’s Fresh Daily on Tuesday morning.

“I’ll try my best, I want to be there.

“It would be good to play against Melbourne in Round 1 at the ‘G … that will be a big game.”
