BRAD Close will make his debut, and Lachie Henderson, Charlie Constable and Lachie Fogarty will play their first AFL matches of the season as Geelong made six changes for Monday night’s must-win clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

Tom Stewart and Mitch Duncan both return from injury, with the Cats forced into four changes as a result of injuries to captain Joel Selwood (hamstring), Luke Dahlhaus (foot), Jordan Clark (shoulder) and Gary Ablett (personal).

Ruckman Darcy Fort has been listed as managed, while former Saint Jack Steven has been dropped.

From North Gambier, Close, who turns 22 on Thursday, was selected in November’s Rookie Draft with selection No.14 after impressing at SANFL level with Glenelg.

He will become Geelong’s 1089th VFL/AFL player.

Henderson, who was delisted by the Cats before being retained via the same Rookie Draft that Geelong selected Close, played only six matches last year.

The former Lion and Blue appeared in the preliminary final loss to Richmond as a replacement for the suspended Tom Hawkins.

Constable played seven of the first nine rounds in 2019 before being dropped and was unable to force his way back into the team.

After an impressive 2018, in which he played 15 matches, Fogarty was restricted to just two games last year.

Fremantle has settled on two changes.

Former Gold Coast forward Brandon Matera and ex-Tiger Reece Conca replace the injured Stephen Hill and former Bomber Travis Colyer.

K rock is live from 6pm Monday on FM 95.5 across Geelong and the Surf Coast, via AFL.com.au and the AFL app.
