GEELONG won’t have to wait long to renew acquaintances with former midfield gun Tim Kelly with a trip across the Nullarbor to take on West Coast set down for Round 3 of the 2020 AFL season.

The Cats will take on the Eagles twice next year, with a return meeting on Friday, July 3 at GMHBA Stadium to open Round 16.

For the second consecutive year, the Cats will have a 9-2 split between Kardinia Park and the MCG.

The Easter Monday clash with Hawthorn in Round 4 and the Country Game against Essendon in Round 8 will be Geelong’s “home” games in Melbourne.

Of the nine matches at GMHBA Stadium, five are interstate clubs, with St Kilda (Round 5), North Melbourne (Round 11), Melbourne (Round 19) and the Western Bulldogs (Round 20) the Victorian teams heading down the Princes Freeway.

As they did in 2019, the Cats will make six interstate trips during the home-and-away season, including three in the opening six rounds; GWS Giants (Round 1), Eagles (Round 3) and Fremantle (Round 6).

They also visit Sydney (Round 10), Port Adelaide (Round 14) and Brisbane Lions (Round 17), but don’t travel to take on Adelaide or Gold Coast this year.

GWS Giants, West Coast, St Kilda, Brisbane Lions and Hawthorn are the clubs the Cats will encounter twice, which means only one meeting with premier Richmond and fellow beaten preliminary finalist Collingwood.

There are only matches for Geelong at Marvel Stadium – Carlton in Round 15 and the Saints in Round 22.
