THE AFL has confirmed a blockbuster Friday night clash in Perth between Geelong and Collingwood as part of Round 7.

The Cats and Magpies match-up at Optus Stadium on July 17 is the first game both will play while in the Western Australian quarantine hub before they meet Fremantle and West Coast to round out their three-week stint on the other side of the country.

With WA easing restrictions, up to 30,000 people will be able to attend the match.

It’s not the only match at Optus Stadium that weekend, with Fremantle and West Coast concluding the round on Sunday night in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd.

Restrictions further easing to allow 60,000 people will come in to effect on July 18.

Round 7 starts the night before with Essendon and Hawthorn renewing hostilities at Marvel Stadium.

Both South Australian teams will play in Melbourne for the first time this year, with Adelaide playing North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

That will be followed the next day at the same venue with Port Adelaide taking on St Kilda.

2019 grand finalist Richmond and GWS Giants will meet at the MCG in the Sunday twilight match-up.
